Price
If your first question is
price, maybe this is not the breed that you
should be looking at. Breeding high quality, healthy
bulldogs, does not come cheap. Reputable breeders have
devoted many years to be able to produce happy, healthy
pups. So, buyer beware when buying a puppy! If it seems
to be a bargain, be certain that any money saved today
would not be spent many times over throughout the dogs
life. You will find that most of the top quality
breeders will place pet Bulldogs for around the $1800
mark.
Description
They should be of medium
size, have a smooth coat, a heavy, thick-set, low-swung
body. Massive, short-faced head. Very wide shoulders and
very sturdy limbs. They are known to be a family
dog as they love the company. They also just adore children
and they make an excellent companion to them as they are
very gentle, laid back and good natured. A lot of people
refer to them as a "couch potato." There is a
belief that they drool, this however, is NOT true.. but
they will snore.

looking for a watch dog, this is NOT the breed for you,
as they will lay on the couch and watch people moving
around.
Care for this breed:
MINIMAL exercise. Have to watch not to over feed them.
Need to watch the wrinkles and powder them if needed.
Activity: A lot is not
good for this breed.
Living Environment: They
are strictly inside dogs, they do not do well in the
heat.
Life Span: A normal life
span for a Bull Dog is 8 to 10 years.

uncommon for many more.

History of the Breed
The breed goes back to
King Henry, VI. He used the dog as a butcher's helper to
control oxen and also for the sport of baiting. Over the
years, breeders are breeding the dogs for non-ferocious
traits and the breed is now a very popular show dog
around the world.
